DPD in Russia Continues Regional Expansion:a New Depot in Tomsk is Opened
Tomsk, October 3rd, 2008 – In the framework of ongoing dynamic regional expansion program, DPD in Russia has opened a new depot in the Siberian Federal District. The new DPD depot is now operational in Tomsk – the administrative, scientific, educational, industrial and cultural centre of the Tomsk Region, a region rich in natural resources.
With the area of 294,600 sq. km, the population of over 500,000 people, and more
than 400-years’ long history making it Siberia’s oldest city, Tomsk is a highly
industrialised area. DPD invested over 1 million Roubles in the new depot which
became the tenth DPD depot in the Siberian District.
The Tomsk depot is located in the north-eastern part of the city (near the
Instruments Plant). With the total area of 486 sq. m., the capacity of the depot is
more than 5,000 parcels a day. The complete range of express forwarding
services offered by DPD in Russia is now available to Tomsk customers:daycertain Express-Service solutions including the renowned DPD BIZPAK (a unique domestic just-in-time delivery solution with unmatched financial guarantees), as well as Classic-Service solutions with standard delivery times, including international DPD CLASSIC delivery.
With the opening of Tomsk, Russia-wide DPD depot network has increased to 31
branches. All the depots of DPD in Russia are linked by a common IT system as
well as by a unique high-capacity ground transportation network.
